Subject: "Reception" cancelled in Sacramento

While making an inquiry regarding ticket prices for Neil in Sacramento, I have been informed that there will be no "reception" for the $125 seats. The $125 merely reserves you a seat in the first five rows at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. At one point in time, the reception was supposedly the plan, however, this plan was cancelled, according to the rocket scientists at BASS today.

However I've heard from a fairly reliable source that he'll be playing the Paramount on the 20th. But it does currently appear the 19th will still be at the BCT, but I haven't seen anything firm on that yet.

OK, so I predicted the Neil tour at the end of December (on Rust). But now, things are getting strange. We're currently hearing "confirmed" reports of a CSNY reunion of sorts, maybe album, maybe tour. In two weeks, there's two quasi-stealth CSN shows here where I live -- over in Tahoe. And there are strong rumblings that this will be CSNY.

As if things couldn't get any stranger, the billboard on the venue reads "CSNY". What makes this extra interesting, is that it read "CSN" as recently as last weekend.

To really push me over the edge, I heard seven, yes seven (7) separate Buffalo Springfield songs on the radio yesterday. Either I am in a great dream, or reality is finally working its way in my favor.

Though it does make sense (as far as the dates are concerned), the only reference I'm seeing for Neil at the Hard Rock is the Pollstar site -- and they currently list NO OTHER dates there. In the past, the Pollstar site HAS made errors (e.g., they kept listed some dates for the HORDE tour that were rumored and then discounted). I can't find any mention of Neil on the Hard Rock site itself. Anyone have any other source for this rumor besides Pollstar?

Though we heard from several sources last night that the 6th & 11th dates at the Paramount (Seattle) had changed to 5th & 6th, A message from another source tells us tickets have already been purchased for the 6th & 11th. This person could be mistaken about the dates, but since I haven't seen anything "official", and the KMTT site still lists the the 6th & 11th, be careful about making your plans until we hear something more firm...

Please note that this is just hearsay. I am not at all connected to anyone that would know this for a fact. However, there is a distinct possibility that the CSN shows (2) of them slated in two weeks in Tahoe won't be CSN. Rather, it is my understanding that there may be a special guest appearance at both the CSN shows in two weeks in South Lake Tahoe.

Someone brought this to my attention who is an unreliable source. However, I don't know of any other planned CSN shows right now. Further, this is Neil country. Finally, these shows have not been publicized heavily, if at all.

The bad news is that the tickets are in the neighborhood of $40-$50. That's too much for CSN. It's too much for the Ducks. It's the right price for CSNY billed as CSN.

With respect to recent reports about Neil not touring Europe until possibly late summer or fall, I've gotten word that at least one European venue that has been working to book Neil for an earlier summer gig has NOT gotten any word about such changes of plans.

Of course this could just be a communications problem. Or maybe the earlier Euro tour is still something being worked on? Time will tell. But in the meantime, there's still hope for the Euro Rusties....
