On Beck's web site it states
that he will be opening for Neil in Santa Barbara on both
the 27th and the
28th. Currently Ticketmaster
only shows the show on the 27th.

show to follow (in Phoenix

Subject: MIH Tour: West Coast Leg
That Santa Barbara date mentioned yesterday is now showing up in Pollstar, along with the other four dates that were previously set. So now this is the current status of the post-Denver west coast leg (on-sale dates are THIS week):
Show Date | City/Venue | Public On-Sale |
9/24 | Phoenix/Desert Sky | Friday |
9/25 | San Diego/Coors Amphitheatre | Thusday |
9/27 | Santa Barbara/S.B.Bowl | Saturday |
9/28 | (open) | |
9/30 | Portland/Rose Garden | Friday |
10/1 | Vancouver/GM Place | Thursday |
I suppose that the 28th COULD still be a Bay Area show,
but I wouldn't count on it. I'd guess that if the Santa
Barbara show sells out quickly they'll add another there.

Subject: MIH Tour: turning right at the coast?
There were recent rumors of Neil continuing west past Denver and hitting Phoenix and San Diego. The drift I'm getting is that those stops are starting to firm up. Doesn't look like he's going to do any stops further south (like Texas) along the way this time, though.
And now there are new rumblings about a NORTHWEST leg to fill in
those gaps in his first pass out there. Probably
Portland. Since by then
he will have already hit Washington (i.e., the Gorge), hopping over
it on up to Vancouver looks likely,
too. Stay tuned.

Well it's not exactly "live" -- it's to be more like those daily summaries on the Big Brother TV show -- but Neil is going to be providing daily video footage of the Silver & Gold Tour rehearsals for about a week on NeilYoung.com. It's supposed to start today, but as of the time I post this news it hasn't shown up yet. Keep checking and it should show up eventually.
Today's footage will show earlier rehearsals at the ranch. Starting tomorrow there will be new rehearsal footage from Hawaii, and it is to be updated each day for about a week. You should be able to find it all here.
(HyperRust editor's note:Due to technical difficulties, the initial rehearsal video from The Ranch came on-line on Friday and will remain there over the weekend. The Hawaii updates will follow over next week...)
In addition to that footage, there will be a new clip added to
the Archives Theater there, too.
It will be called "A Visit To The Archives", and Neil himself
shot it. This clip should stay around for a while.

Subject: Albuquerque show confusion
SFX, and the Mesa Del Sol Amphitheater site, too, are both now claiming that the Albuquerque show is going to be on AUGUST 6 instead of the previously reported (and still listed on NeilYoung.com) date of SEPTEMBER 6. If this is true, it would make it the first show of the tour, and they'll have to jump all the way from Phoenix to Virginia Beach in two days -- something not very likely.
I feel very confident that this change is a propagating typographical
error. The fact that Mesa Del Sol is an SFX venue, and
undoubtably gets their dates from the same source that the SFX site
does, would tend to bear this out. Stay tuned...

Reminder of shows on-sale this week:
Hi - went to hear Powderfinger Friday nite. The band is off to a really great start (it was their debut performance). They may be mostly the same guys as the CSN tribute band Deja Vu (plus a blonde lady on keyboard doing high harmony), but this was really much cooler than the CSN thing...
Dennis looked like a Weldish Neil -- wig, dark glasses, flannel shirt without sleeves, holey jeans. He really hits the notes! Blew some of the words, but then so does Neil... Gary plays superb lead guitar -- he really wailed on Southern Man (the show closer).
Here's the set list (way too short, imo):
I checked the Pollstar "Most Requested Tours" list today, and Neil is Number 1 on the hit list!
