What else can I say but "Neil and Crazy Horse rocks!" Only "What a show!"

I just got home, it's well past midnight now and I can say I'm tired but happy! It was my second show with Neil. First was in '96 at Turku, which I think had been the best concert I have ever seen, among plenty! So you can say expectations were high...

Black Crowes were absent this night, because they were supporting AC-DC in Germany. Damn those heavy metal oldsters! So special guest tonight were Lemonator, a Finnish band. Little odd choice for opener, because they could be labelled for a Brit rock band. Anyway they played a good show. Enjoying the chance to play a big arena gig.

But the crow was waiting for Neil and Crazy Horse. And at 9:00pm the wait was over.

Don't Cry No Tears was the opener...no suprise there. I was happy to hear it, though. Not really a familiar song to me, but I think it was good choice for show starter. Great sound also. I´ve Been Waiting For You followed, and the band looked to be in REALLY fine form.

Then to Love And Only Love, which was very powerful. And on to Piece Of Crap, which was... how could I put it, hmmm... was lots of fun. After that it was time for the new songs.

After hearing many positive things about Going Home, I was really looking forward to hearing it... I have to say it didn't really hit with me... Maybe I have to hear it a couple of times more...

Hold You In My Arms was the just the opposite. What a great song! What a beatifull moment to see Neil playing piano at one moment, and then changing to guitar for solos.

The accoustic set was same as usual, From Hank To Hendrix being the highlight for me. It was good time to take a breather also!

Crazy Horse came back and they started with Only Love Can Break Your Heart, and then it was time to hear new songs again. Gateway of Love and Standing In The Light of Love were both good... You could say 'nothing new' -- but just great Neil songs.

HHMM really got the crowd rocking... It wasn't a sell out crowd, but almost. Sedan Delivery and RITFW were next, and the later got whole crowd standing. Nice versions, and you could see the band were enjoying themselves. Sedan Delivery, which isn't one of my favorities, sounded awesome live! But it also meant that Hurricane wasn't played tonight -- what was a big disappointment.

But before the show I was hoping for one song: Down By The River. Knowing they haven't played it in Europe on this tour so far, you could have said my changes weren't good. But I remained optimistic, and for the first encore they played it! I stood on top of my chair the whole song through. I can't put it to words how happy I was... It took me back to '96 when Neil opened the gig with it. That was also the time I got really into Neil! (I have to say in my defense that I was born in 1976...)

After making my day, they left the stage. But they came back to play one more song: Roll Another Number. It was a good closer for a good night!

Thank you Neil and Crazy Horse!
