A Cleveland Plain Dealer review.
Count me as one who has been wondering if Neil has "lost" it lately. But after seeing last night's show, I can emphatically say NO WAY! Neil dominated the evening with his new work, his classics, and on the CSN material, too.
The sound was much better than I remember from the 2000 tour. The band is incredibly tight. I think the new drummer is key to the good sound.
I didn't get the exact setlist but we were treated with a DBTR instead of Southern Man in the first set, and a first of the tour ATGR. It's funny he played that, because before the show my wife says, "Hey, he didn't bring that funny organ." When I pointed it out at the back of the stage I told her he hauls that thing all around the country but never plays it. Husbands are ALWAYS wrong! Thanks for the surprise, Neil.

Bruce Devney
gotta keep the machinery goin'
Bruce's review was excellent. Neil was in top form last night, and it was great to see him.
ATGR was incredible. . . a perfect moment in time. THE pump organ. . . I was up and out of my seat with excitement, but the corpses in my section were glued to theirs so I had to sit back down so people could see. . .
Let's Roll . . . Old Man . . . Going Home . . . I like this tune. . . . You're my Girl . . . I guess you have to be a daughter to appreciate this one. . . . Harvest Moon . . . DBTR . . . RITFW . . . (not necessarily in that order). I've forgotten one or two in my excitement... What a great great night!!
A funny thing... Nash was barefoot on stage for the whole show, and during RITFW he must have gotten a splinter in his foot or something cuz he bent over to pick something out of his foot... I just thought it was funny.
Also funny: He and Crosby sitting there holding mugs of (presumably) coffee in one hand while singing -- looked like some kind of cheap lounge act. I guess you can tell Nash and Croz aren't exactly my favorites.
Bruce, you couldn't be more right about Half Your Angels. Nash dedicated it to the victims of 911 and I just thought they deserve something better than this smarmy piece of crap...an embarassment.
Neil, thanks for an incredible night of music. You were right on, as usual. Bring on a summer tour baby!
