NEWS FLASH:
I just heard on a local radio station (WRNX-Amherst, MA) that Neil is coming to THE MEADOWS in HARTFORD, CT on Nov. 8!!! (-:
I've been to The Meadows recently to see The Cranberries (and Cracker). It is set up like Great Woods in Mansfield, MA.... (Great Woods is nicer, I.M.H.O.)... but it is small and intimate like Great Woods.
Does anybody already know about this concert? and if so, are there any rustrows being formed?

Just got off the phone with a helpful but less than well-informed young lady and this is what she tells me:
Tickets for the November 10th show in Buffalo go on sale this Sat. at 8am. They are being sold thru Fantastix *only*. Outside the Buffalo area (and within it too, for all I know), all Tops grocery stores have a Fantastix outlet at their customer service counter. The location I spoke with is giving out "handbills that guarantee a place in line". The line forms at 7:30am.
They don't know the ticket price and won't "until they start selling them." They will take cash, Visa and Mastercard for payment. There is *no* limit on how many one person can buy. (I know, I know. I even asked if that meant I could buy 100 tickets and she said "sure!")
I'll see if I can find out any more and if so, I'll pass it on.

To the Rust Row Co-ordinators in Western Canada: I spoke to Sonya at MCA yesterday. She said that the tickets are being sent to her from their western office either today or tomorrow. She will then send them on to the Co-ordinators. So we should have them by the end of next week and the rest of the Rusties should have them about a week after that.
Just 27 more sleeps till the Winnipeg RustFest!!!
Peace, Sultan
It's probably already been flashed to ya ..not sure, no Rust mail lately :-( but here is a report available at http://www.canoe.ca/Jam/sep17_young.html.
There is also a link to more Neil stuff, which I haven't checked out yet.

Hi there,
You may recall me mailing you earlier about the rumour Neil would be playing in Saint John, New Brunswick, and I am writing to let you know that it has been CONFIRMED!!!!!!
Neil will play Harbour Station, in Saint John on Nov. 4th, and the Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Nov. 5th. I hope this can be of some use to you. Maybe you can post it to the breaking news for tour 96 or whatever. I will find out when tickets are on sale and where they are available and such, as well as prices and let you know as soon as possible.
Wow, Neil in my little home town. This is just great!!
Just went to the Bramalea City Centre & the Woodbine Centre to get wristbands in the event of no Rust row. As a matter of fact I sped to these locations as fast as my little beatup car would take me.
Anyway, it was 7:30 and neither Ticketmaster had any knowledge of the wristbands for the Neil lineups.
I'm so excited I'm about to throw up! I just heard on the radio that Neil
will be in Edmonton on October 24! Tickets go on sale on Saturday! (Guess
where I'll be friday night!)
I can't believe it- I AM FINALLY GOING TO SEE NEIL!
:)
A very happy

I just heard the Neil and Crazy Horse Winnipeg date confirmed on the local radio station. Monday Oct. 28 at the Winnipeg Arena. Tickets $32.50 + $37.50. Wrist bands are being given out at 4:30 today and tickets go on sale Saturday 9:30 AM. I'll try and have more details later.

Hello Southern Ontario Rusties... Kato sent this in earlier today:
Mix 99.9 just played 4 NY songs in a row (4:00 pm eastern) - Heart of Gold, Rockin in the Free World (acoustic), Harvest Moon and something else.We need to move fast. Everybody who wants a RustRow ticket, please e-mail or phone me A.S.A.P with your numbers. Let's start with Hamilton, although you could give a tentative "yes/no" to Ottawa and Montreal.Afterward the announcer said that on October 31, in Copps Coliseum (Hamilton): Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
Tickets on sale THIS SATURDAY!!
I will compile a list and get in touch with Sheila before Saturday.
RUSTFEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have it from a good source that Neil Young & Crazy Horse will be playing Copps Coliseum on Thursday, October 31.
Hi Rust:
I just phoned Copp's Coliseum Box Office [1-905-546-4040]. No confirmation
yet... I was advised to try them on Wednesday next!

For the Canada tour Pete Droge & The Sinners have been chosen as an opening act, along with Jewel. You might remember Droge from opening up for Neil & Booker T. at a handful of shows on the '93 tour and playing at the Bridge Benefit a couple years ago. Droge has been playing weekly gigs in Seattle and Portland for the past month to rehearse for this tour. I asked his Road Manager about the tour but the only info he had to offer is that it will take place in Canada, no U.S. dates that he knew about, Portland or otherwise.

I AM SO WOUND UP!!! Check it out Canadian Rusties:
http://www.canoe.ca/JamMusicNeilYoung/home.htmlThe only thing I wonder is how this jives with the Bridge shows. Anyway, maybe the dates aren't quite right, but I sure hope the idea is.

Cutlass Supreme ready to hit the road!! Can you say "Hamilton, Montreal,
Ottawa? I know you can!!"
An Atlanta station is running a contest for Neil tickets. The big winner will get to meet "his raggedness" before or after the show.
That surprises me....but then the tickets aren't selling well in
Atlanta, (I hear). Maybe Neil feels the need to be nice to his fans.
Funny how that works.

The Orange County Register ran a blurb Tuesday saying Neil Young's Sept 11 show was moved to the Forum in L.A. instead of Irvine Meadows. He'll be playing with Gin Blossoms and Patti Smith. I called Ticket Master but I got a mentally deficient person who kept asking me "Was that Neil Diamond?" and was never able to confirm. According to the paper tickets go on sale Sunday the 4th of August.
Don't have a lot of good news. Finally got thru to promoter that Lookout Management provided, this afternoon. Turns out it was the wrong promoter. Anyway, I've been in contact with Lookout Mama, and she's trying to contact Lookout Management to help us out. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9, I've tried to contact the Hershey box office, but they are closed for the evening, I've also tried contacting Electric Factory (who I think might be the actual promoter, to no avail). If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Good news folks!
I just got off the phone w/ Lakewood, will pick up the tickets tomorrow.
Looks like we'll be sitting in section 102 (LOWER level, center) rows Q&S.
Row R was already sold, so we'll have a row between us(maybe we can adopt
them as Rusties). I think these are EXCELLENT seats! I got confirmation
from Shakey and Thrasher that they'll meet at the Firehouse Bar & Grill for
a mini-RustFest, and David said he'd
post this on HyperRust, so perhaps we
can all get together around 5pm. I'll post directions after I scope things
out at lakewood tomorrow, just to make sure I give everyone correct info.
We're seein' Neil & the Horse and we're down center!
WOO-HOO!! :-)
Take care,

Today I called 1-800-get-tixx to see what they were charging for MSG tickets (no intention of buying), and to see if they had any info on Jones Beach. They had no info on Jones Beach, but listen to this shit:
THEY HAD TICKETS IN THE FIRST 10 ROWS FOR MADISON SQUARE GARDEN AND THEY WERE CHARGINGWhy do these dirtbags get first 10 row tickets, and poor slob Neil fans like me (and you guys) get our tickets in the first 30 seconds and still can't do any better than section 9!!! I AM PISSED!
I know Neil has nothing to do with this, but I'll bet TicketBastard does.

The Phoenix Festival, to be held in the UK from 18th to 21st July and featuring Neil Young on the 19th, will be broadcast live on the Internet 24 hours each day. There will be CuSeeMe cameras on stage, backstage interviews and more. To get the full benefit it is suggested that you have Netscape 2.0, Real Audio, Shockwave and CuSeeMe software. The web site is up and running, but there's not too much there as yet, (though it does have a map of how to get there, if like me, you are going but don't know where it is). The URL is http://www.goodcleanfun.freud.co.uk/.
