  • Traveling from the East on I-24...
Expect delays between Murfreesboro and Nashville due to major road construction on the Interstate. We once moved 1 mile in an hour getting through there. You can take Sam Ridley Parkway exit before you get to the worst of it OR the Lavergne exit and follow Murfreesboro Rd to Nashville (you go right off the Interstate and left onto Murfreesboro Rd.) Watch for Briley Parkway and take the first exit onto it to the right. It will take you to Opry, which is after you go over I-40.
  • I-24 from Kentucky line...
You want to watch for DEA and or troopers after you start coming down the Ridge from the Joelton exit. They also like to hide around the Old Hickory exit a little further towards Nashville. Trinity Lane area is moving smooth since construction finished up there. You will need to follow the I-65 Louisville signs to find Briley Parkway and follow signs on Briley to Opry.
  • Traveling I-40 from Knoxville...
Watch out for PUTNAM county. It is a major trooper stop for speeders. I-40 may also have construction spots, haven't been to Knoxville in a while, but seems as if they always have something going on along that route.
  • I-40 from Memphis....
They are profiling hispanics for the most part. Saw evidence of this in January. And it is "Trooper Alley".
  • I-65 from Kentucky...
Watch for troopers and sometimes DEA. The worst of it is from the Kentucky line until you come down the ridge. About 15 miles of surprises.
  • I-65 from Alabama...
Beware of Maury county (those are the Columbia signs). There is a trooper station in the area and they like to get speeders through there. I have always seen someone pulled over there every time I've been through there.
  • Misc Info....
That should do it. Remember you want to take Briley Parkway to the Opry (from I-40 Memphis don't take the first Briley unless you have hit rush hour traffic, it's the White Bridge Road exit and you would turn left onto Briley at the top of the ramp follow it until you come to Opry). Briley is an exit off of I-24, I-40 and I-65.
