The Day The Archives Arrive...

by Jeff Corn a.k.a. Patch of Ground Person

Hey Rusties,

I know that we've all been burned before, but I think this time it's going to happen. October 26th. The Archives. 8 CDs. What's the day going to be like? What am I going to do?

Being a teacher, I can't call in sick. So here's the plan...

  1. Skip lunch, go to my local record store and purchase The Archives at 12:17 p.m.

  2. Out of school at 2:40, at home by 2:55, first CD in at 2:56. The question is, do I listen to the live CDs first, or the studio tracks? Probably best to do it all in order. Disk 1 it is...

  3. The plan is to savor the moment, and don't rush it. Listen to the first 2 CDs, while at the same time examining the 100 page book with a fine tooth comb. Pick up kids from day care at 5:30.

  4. Dinner music? Neil of course -- disk 3... Wife getting irritated, but understands... "Why do you listen to that guy so much?" Jeff just laughs...

  5. Jeff cleans the kitchen listening to the last 5 tracks of disk 3...

  6. 7:00 p.m. Time to grade homework. Ahhh, but today is the day The Archives come out, so no one had any homework today. Jeff goes online to share his experience with other Rusties, listening to disks 4 and 5...

  7. Exhausted and fulfilled, Jeff hits the hay, to get the rest needed to listen to the live disks tomorrow. What a great day...
Then again, I could wait and see if I get it for Christmas... ; )

I can't wait!
Jeff
